Abby and Emma

Abby is my best friend, Jessica's, daughter. Jessica and I have been best friends since high school - I won't date us by listing the year! Abby was born on May 3, 2002 and I have been faithfully documenting her grow up. On this particular Sunday we went to the Albuquerque Botanical Garden and Abby's friend, Emma, came to hang out with us too.

Introducing Lee and Rick!

Lee and Rick are having their wedding and reception on May, 18th at La Fonda in Santa Fe New Mexico. Rick's family has been in Santa Fe since the mid 1800's. His family made there way out here as stone masons to work on the St. Francis Cathedral. While making our way through the plaza, I felt like I had my own personal tour guides. These guys are a wealth of information about Santa Fe.

Introducing Hilary and Ryan!

Hilary and Ryan are getting married on April, 26th. at St Bernadette's catholic church and partying at the Sandia Resort and Casino. Hilary's family own and operate Excel Manufacturing where they design and fabricate precision machine equipment for aerospace, electronics and other commercial industrial applications. Introducing Krysta and Nathan

How We Met...

Nathan and Krysta met through Marching Band at Del Norte High School. Nathan played the clarinet and Krysta was in the color guard. They were friends for about 3 years, and after Nathan transferred from New Mexico Tech to UNM, he and Krysta started dating. Just over 2 years later, he pops the question.

How We Got Engaged…

Since Nathan and Krysta met through the marching band, Nathan thought it would appropriate to propose that way too. The homecoming game for Del Norte High School was on October Friday the 13th, 2006. Nathan had it set up to where the band director would come and ask them to lead the band in a song. Eagerly, Krysta jumped at the chance to stand in front of a crowd of people. The song they conducted to was called "Hey Baby". At the end of the song, Nathan got on one knee and over a cheering crowd yelled "Will You Marry Me?!" While the audience was chanting 'say yes', Krysta was in silent shock. After about a minute of tears, Krysta nodded yes! One of the things that's kind of cool about the date is that it's the same date Nathan asked Krysta to start going out with him. Friday the 13th.

Krysta and Nathan will be married June 21, 2008 at Heights Cumberland Church. The reception will be held at the Mountainview Club.

Introducing Michelle and Brian

Brian and I met 8 years ago at my first sales meeting with Thomson Learning. Brian lived in Boston and I lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At a summer sales meeting in Chicago, Brian and I were looking out the window at an event we were at one night and there were a bunch of trampolines. Even though it was pouring down rain, we both looked at each other said let's go. We ended up jumping on the trampolines in the pouring down rain. Soaking wet in our work clothes, we had to climb back on the bus with all of our co-workers to head back to the hotel. We dated for about a year on and off after that. After a year of dating, we realized that the long distance thing would not work. However, we stayed really good friends. We never went more then a week without talking on the phone. At another sales meeting again in Chicago 4 years later, Brian basically told me that he could not live without me. He then invited me to Germany to visit some of his friends. We started dating again and then I moved to Boston a few months later. We got engaged 3 months after I moved to Boston. Brian and I were best friends for so many years, that living together now seems so easy! We are truly sole mates!

** Photographer's Note:

Last weekend I had the priviledge of attending Michelle's wedding shower which is where I shot these photos of her and Brian. I usually like to schedule an engagement session with each couple, but in Michelle and Brian's case there was not enough time before they had to return back to work and back to Boston!

I didn't even know I would be seeing Brian on the evening of the wedding shower, but he stopped by that night after finishing a round of golf with Michelle's Dad. These shots are a true testament to the great sport that Brian is: Even though he was sweaty and tired from a day of golf, he ran his fingers through his hair, announced to me (jokingly) that he looked great, and readily agreed to pose for me when I told him that we were doing his engagement session on the spot!!

The love that is shared beween Michelle and Brian is obvious when you notice how they interact with each other. They are always laughing and they have such a laid back style and attitude. These are the things that let me know these two people will spend a long, happy life together!

Michelle and Brian will become husband and wife on June 28, 2008. The wedding and reception will be held at the Tamaya. Maid of Honor is Jessica Riley, Michelle's lifelong best friend and Best Man is Patrick Downey, the Groom's brother. Michelle and Brian are looking forward to sharing their special day with many friends and family members from across the country.

I'm excited to see them again at the Tamaya, and plan to get some amazing shots during their wedding!

Introducing Jessica and Mitch

It all started with a Match.com “Wink” on July 31st, 2007 from Jessica, the bold and daring.

After a few e-mails, we talked on the phone for the first time for almost 2 hours and made plans to meet when she returned from her business trip. Jess works as a pharmaceutical sales rep. and travels to her southern NM territory a couple times a month. Upon preparing to travel back to Albuquerque (to meet), she changed into some casual, comfortable clothing.

Her confidence to meet me for the first time in her bathing suit with a terry cloth cover-up was a pretty impressive, yet confident, move on her partJ

That night was the first time my eyes met Jessica’s – despite being a bit distracted by her pool outfit, I was drawn to her smile, eyes, personality and beautiful face. We had a couple beers (actually I had one and she had two) and dinner – I couldn’t stop losing myself while I gazed into her green eyes.

There was something about this first date that felt so perfectly right – we both felt a very close & comfortable connection. Our compatibility list kept growing the more we talked - in fact we couldn’t learn anything about each other that would prevent our feet from leaving the ground that night.

Photographer's Note *** I have had the priviledge of knowing Jessica for seven years. When Jessica called me and asked me to photograph her wedding, I was absolutely thrilled to hear she and Mitch were getting married!

In all of the time I have known Jessica I can honestly say that I have never seen her happier or more content with life than she is now. Jessica and Mitch are a perfect match and you can see this when you spend time with them. I shot these engagement photos of them one day last fall and it we had so much fun!

Jessica and Mitch will become husband and wife Sept. 21, 2008 in Corrales, NM. The attendants of honor will be the couple's children: the Maids of Honor will be Alexis Herbert and Kaitlyn Riley. Best man will be Colin Riley.
